Alabama State Plan for Independent Living

Centers for Independent Living (CIL’S) across the state of Alabama collaboratively work with the State Independent Living Council (SILC) to formulate a comprehensive plan for the state. The three-year State Plan for Independent Living is then submitted to the US Department of Health and Human Services in order to receive federal funding. If approved, funding will then be disbursed and used statewide to serve individuals with disabilities and fulfill the duties of the Alabama State Independent Living Council. The current state plan was accepted in 2024 and will expire in 2027.
