Alabama State Plan for Independent Living

Independent Living Centers across the state of Alabama must collaboratively work with the designated state entity (DSE). A three-year State Plan for Independent Living must be submitted to the US Department of Health and Human Services in order to receive federal funding. If approved funding will then be disbursed and used statewide to serve individuals with disabilities and fulfill the duties of the Alabama State Independent Living Council. The current state plan was accepted in 2024 and will expire in 2027.
